Sharing the Folder
The folder can be shared with another ParseDoc user. Typically with an external accountant or a colleague who processes documents. Only accounts on a paid plan can share; a guest does not need a plan.
Levels
| Level | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Read-only | View, download, and export documents |
| Document review | Additionally confirm documents under review and return them |
| Full access | Additionally add, delete, rename, and re-process documents |
The Document review level is what you want to assign to the accountant. It allows them to review and confirm documents, but not to add to or delete them from the folder.
The folder itself remains the owner’s possession even with full access: the guest cannot rename it, archive it, change its default options, or invite others.
Invitation
Sharing is initiated in the folder management via an email invitation. A single folder can be shared with up to five people. The invited party does not need to have an account beforehand — the invitation will link to their account as soon as they log in with that email.
The invitation will appear to the guest in a window immediately after login; if they have linked Telegram, a bot will also notify them about it. We do not send an email with the invitation, so please inform them directly. The guest can accept it or hide it — a hidden invitation remains recorded, and the owner will see it as Hidden by guest.
As long as the invitation is not accepted by the other party, it will be shown as pending. The owner can change the level or cancel sharing at any time; the documents will not disappear, just the guest will stop seeing them.
Credits When Sharing
Credits are applicable to the person who owns the folder, not the one who uploaded the document. The document belongs to the owner, and it shows in their activity who added it. If the owner downgrades to the Free plan, sharing will be paused and will resume upon payment.
What the Invited Guest Does Not See
Only the shared folder, indicated with a badge Shared with …. They do not see other folders, account settings, billing, accounting integrations, or the owner's activity. Documents from the shared folder do not count towards their reports, and deleted documents from the shared folder can only be restored from the recycle bin by the owner.
