Getting Started
This section is for those who are opening ParseDoc for the first time. It will guide you through the process from logging in to your first processed document and explain what happens to the document in between. Individual features are described in detail in their own chapters.
What ParseDoc Does
You upload a document — invoice, receipt, credit note — as a PDF, scan, photo from your mobile, or even as a Word or Excel file. The service reads the data, verifies it (totals, control digits for IČO and IBAN, DIČ in the VIES registry) and offers it for download in a format that your accounting system can read. You can also send it directly to a connected accounting program.
There is no human involved between the upload and the result. The document goes through text recognition, a model that identifies what is the supplier and what is the customer, and a series of checks. Any discrepancies will be shown as findings in the control form — and until you confirm the document, it won't go anywhere.
The electronic invoice (ISDOC, UBL, ZUGFeRD, XML from Pohoda) is not processed by the model, but is read directly. Such an invoice does not cost any credits.
Recommended Order of First Steps
- Fill in your company identity in the settings (My Company). Without it, the service cannot distinguish whether the document is incoming or outgoing, and it treats everything as incoming.
- Upload one document and go through the control form to the end.
- Set the output format that your accounting system requires. You can change it at any time, even retroactively; downloading in another format costs nothing.
- Only then should you upload a batch. If the first document breaks down, fifty others will break down in the same way.
What You Will Need
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Your company IČO | Distinguishes incoming and outgoing documents |
| Credits on your account | Charged per page, not per document |
| Sample documents | Different suppliers, different layouts |
If any of this is missing, the service will continue to function, but it will unnecessarily slow you down with prompts in some areas.
